We acknowledge that any business will impact on the wider natural and social environment in which we live and with this in mind we aim to continue to ensure that Matahui Lodge creates a location where that impact is minimized.
To assist with this, we use, as much as possible, only eco-friendly products in our cleaning and laundry. Our toiletries are also recognised as eco-friendly.
We have recycling practices for which we seek guests co-operation, and we monitor our energy usage.
Every effort is made to source locally grown products and our menus reflect a seasonal influence.
We are constantly reviewing our procedures and would welcome any constructive ways in which we can improve our operation to both the guest's and our own advantage.
